“it is wisdom which is seeking for wisdom”

Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind by Shunryu Suzuki

what is Soto zen?

Soto Zen is a school of Buddhism that was founded in 13th century Japan by Eihei Dogen (1200-1253), considered the first eminent Zen teacher in Japan. A prolific writer, his key teachings are recorded in one of the greatest works of spiritual literature in the world, the Shobogenzo (The Treasury of the True Dharma Eye).

Zazen, or seated meditation, is the foundation of Soto Zen. Master Dogen taught and emphasized the integration of zen practice in daily life, with no goal, and being in the present moment in one’s life.

“to study the way of enlightenment is to study the self. to study the self is to forget the self. to forget the self is to be actualized by the myriad things.”
